Young learners and parents
Your information should help you study.
Under-13 accounts are not available right now. The Study Concept has not yet opened an under-13 parent-consent program. A parent or guardian should not create a child account or enter a child’s information while this notice says enrollment is closed. We will publish the complete consent process and enable account creation only after the required verification and account protections are working.
This page is a plain-language description of The Study Concept’s current privacy practices and the safeguards that must be in place before a younger child can join. It is not itself a request for consent. The full Privacy Policy also applies.
The sign-up and sign-in screens ask users to confirm they are 13 or older before continuing with Google. This is a self-reported confirmation, not verified proof of age; The Study Concept does not ask for a birth date. After confirmation, the browser stores the eligibility result locally so returning users are not asked again. Hosting and security systems still process the connection details needed to deliver the page.
What information The Study Concept handles
When an account is used, The Study Concept may handle the account email, profile information, saved settings, notes, documents, assignments, schedule events, cards, progress, support messages, and basic device and security logs. Information you choose to send to an AI feature can include your prompt, conversation, selected text, document excerpts, or voice recording.
Study work is stored in the browser. When a user is signed in, selected workspace data can also sync to Supabase cloud storage. Clearing the browser or signing out does not remove a cloud copy. The full policy explains how to request access, correction, export, or deletion.
Services that may process information
- Vercel hosts the site and APIs; consented analytics runs only on selected pages.
- Supabase provides account sign-in and cloud database storage.
- Google sign-in shares account identity details. The Schedule page can separately request read-only Google Calendar access; imported event details may become part of saved schedule data.
- When a learner chooses an AI or media feature, the submitted material may be sent to OpenAI or the configured speech provider, which can include Microsoft Edge TTS, OpenAI, Kokoro, Replicate, or ElevenLabs. A separate NotebookLM proof-of-concept uses Puter.
- AdSense scripts were removed from the offline and math pages where they had appeared. Vercel still processes ordinary connection metadata to serve the site.
Providers process information under their own terms. The Study Concept must give parents a clear, current list of providers and purposes before requesting parental consent. The full Privacy Policy has the current technical details.
AI and connected features
AI responses can be wrong. A learner should check important answers against class materials or a teacher. Before any under-13 account is enabled, The Study Concept must provide a clear parent choice about any optional sharing of a child’s personal information and must not rely on a simple email link as proof of parenthood.
Parent and guardian choices
When an approved parent-consent process opens, a verified parent or guardian will be able to review the information collected, its purposes and recipients, and the child’s account. The parent will be able to ask for a copy, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent. A withdrawal request will stop future collection and use, subject to records that must be retained by law.
