1. Scope of this Policy

This Policy applies to The Study Concept services that link to it, including the dashboard, schedule, document tools, content library, flashcards, LYNE assistant features, account pages, notifications, and any related web applications. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that we do not control, even if they are linked from the Services.

  • Communications, such as support requests, legal notices, feedback, and other messages you send to us.
  • Payment-related information handled by a payment provider if paid access is enabled. We do not intentionally store full payment card numbers on our own servers.

  • Local browser storage, including app preferences, cached study state, drafts, reminders, and authentication-related state.
  • Notification subscription information, timezone information, and schedule metadata when reminder features are enabled.
  • Approximate analytics and performance information from hosting, database, and analytics providers.

Information processed by AI features

  • Prompts, selected text, uploaded files, document excerpts, images, audio, transcripts, and context you choose to submit to AI features.
  • Generated outputs, including summaries, explanations, notes, study cards, practice questions, transcripts, images, and speech.

3. How We Use Personal Information

  • Provide, maintain, personalize, and improve the Services.
  • Create and manage accounts, authentication, preferences, subscriptions, and support requests.
  • Save and display study materials, schedules, documents, tasks, cards, achievements, and progress information.
  • Operate LYNE, AI-assisted explanations, search, transcription, OCR, text-to-speech, and related study features.
  • Send service messages, reminders, security notices, support responses, and, where permitted, product updates.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, technical issues, security incidents, and violations of our Terms.
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforce agreements, and protect the rights, safety, and security of users and others.

4. Legal Bases and Consent

We collect, use, and disclose personal information only where we have a lawful basis to do so. Depending on the feature and jurisdiction, this may include consent, performance of a contract, legitimate operational interests, compliance with legal obligations, or another basis permitted by law. Where consent is required, you may withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

  • To service providers that host, secure, authenticate, analyze, store, process, or support the Services.
  • To AI, transcription, speech, OCR, image, or document-processing providers when you use features that require those providers.
  • To payment processors if paid plans, subscriptions, refunds, tax, fraud, or billing support are involved.
  • To a school, parent, guardian, or institution where the account is school-managed or the disclosure is legally permitted or required.
  • To comply with law, legal process, investigations, safety obligations, or enforceable government requests.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or transfer of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

6. Third-Party Providers

The Study Concept may use providers such as hosting platforms, database providers, authentication providers, analytics services, payment processors, AI providers, calendar providers, and web push services. These providers process information under their own terms, policies, and security programs. We aim to use reputable providers and disclose material data practices through this Policy and related notices.

7. Children, Students, and School Use

The Study Concept is designed for students, but users under 13 should not create a personal account or submit personal information unless a parent, guardian, or authorized school arrangement permits that use. Where the Services are used through a school or institution, student information may also be governed by school agreements, school policies, and applicable student privacy laws.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us at deanconcepcion8@gmail.com so we can review and take appropriate action.

8. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain accounts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and keep business records. Local browser data may remain on your device until you clear it, delete it through the app, or the app overwrites it.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your login credentials, using trusted devices, and avoiding the upload of highly sensitive information unless the relevant feature is intended for that use.

10. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

  • You may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal information where applicable law provides those rights.
  • You may withdraw certain consents, disable notifications, clear local browser storage, or stop using connected third-party services.
  • You may contact us about privacy concerns or complaints at deanconcepcion8@gmail.com.
  • We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

11. International Processing

The Services and service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, and other jurisdictions. Those jurisdictions may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
