These Terms of Use form a legal agreement between you and Dean Concepcion, operating The Study Concept. By accessing or using The Study Concept, you agree to these Terms and to the policies linked from these Terms.

1. The Services

The Study Concept provides study tools, including dashboards, schedules, to-do lists, document tools, flashcards, content libraries, reminders, progress features, LYNE assistant features, and AI-assisted study workflows. The Services may change over time as features are added, removed, improved, or limited.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must have legal capacity to use the Services or permission from a parent, guardian, or authorized school representative.
  • If you are under 13, you may not create a personal account or submit personal information unless a parent, guardian, or authorized school arrangement permits it.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of account information and for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You must notify us promptly at deanconcepcion8@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Services to:

  • Violate any law, regulation, school policy, academic integrity rule, contract, or third-party right.
  • Upload, copy, distribute, or generate content you do not have the right to use.
  • Harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, deceive, or harm another person.
  • Attempt to bypass security controls, probe systems, scrape data, reverse engineer code, or interfere with the operation of the Services.
  • Submit malware, harmful code, spam, or content designed to disrupt the Services.
  • Use AI features for emergency, medical, legal, financial, or other high-stakes decisions without qualified human review.

4. Academic Integrity

The Study Concept is intended to help students learn, organize, practice, and understand material. You are responsible for following your school, teacher, examination board, and institution rules. You must not use the Services to cheat, misrepresent authorship, fabricate sources, submit prohibited AI output, or bypass assignment instructions.

5. AI Features

  • AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, outdated, or misleading.
  • You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated notes, explanations, summaries, cards, transcripts, images, and other outputs before relying on them.
  • AI features are educational and productivity tools, not professional advice.
  • Prompts, selected content, uploaded files, and related context may be processed by third-party AI providers when you use AI features.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Services, subject to any rights held by schools, teachers, publishers, employers, or other third parties. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and use your content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the Services.

You represent that you have all rights necessary to submit your content and that your content does not violate law, these Terms, or another person's rights.

7. Intellectual Property

The Study Concept name, interface, software, design, graphics, workflows, documentation, and related materials are owned by Dean Concepcion or licensed to The Study Concept, except for user content and third-party materials. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Services except as expressly permitted by us or by law.

8. Paid Access, Billing, and Trials

If paid plans, subscriptions, trials, or purchases are offered, the applicable price, billing interval, renewal terms, cancellation process, and refund terms will be presented at or before checkout. Payment processing may be handled by third-party payment providers. Unless otherwise stated at checkout, fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly approved by us.

9. Third-Party Services

The Services may integrate with or link to third-party tools, including authentication providers, payment processors, AI providers, hosting services, calendar services, and external websites. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control. Your use of third-party services may be governed by their separate terms and policies.

10. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Services if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for users or the Services, infringed rights, failed to pay amounts owed, or used the Services unlawfully. You may stop using the Services at any time.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, accurate, or suitable for any particular purpose. Study recommendations, AI outputs, analytics, and readiness signals are provided for support and organization only.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dean Concepcion, The Study Concept, and their service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, academic outcomes, or business opportunities. To the extent direct liability cannot be excluded, total liability will be limited to the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid for the Services in the 12 months before the claim arose.

13. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dean Concepcion and The Study Concept from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your content, your misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

14. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory law that provides otherwise, disputes will be brought in the courts located in Ontario, Canada.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the updated Terms, unless applicable law requires a different process.
